faith

Dear Friends,

It is easy to lose faith these days.  The agents of Satan, worshipers of money and power who delude the people with false interpretations of the Bible, are firmly in power.  They are destroying the biosphere and enriching themselves, claiming to be fulfilling God's will.  They say that it is God's plan to destroy His creation of life on earth, and that those who believe this will be "saved"- somehow transported to another realm.

This is self-serving and psychotic.  The rapture cult has fooled millions into accepting mass suicide, and the rest of us are apparently too weak to stop them.

What we need is faith that God is on our side and will empower us to save ourselves, and to save the planet for our descendants.

Brothers and sisters:
Faith is the realization of what is hoped for
and evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11: 1-2

Hebrews 11 goes on to describe Abraham's faith, as an example of how God can do the impossible when all hope seems gone.  The full text is below.  We need that sort of faith today, to believe that God will somehow restore some balance.  We have all sinned against His creation and worshiped material goods rather than truth and justice.  Can He forgive us?  Will He help us get rid of the predators who have taken over our planet?

Through his holy prophets he promised of old.
that he would save us from our sins.
Luke 1: 71

I believe that God works through us.  I believe that the "rapture" consists of being called by Jesus to do His work of bringing about peace on earth.

I believe we are His army in the spiritual battle of Armageddon, which is now raging, between the kings of the earth and their armies, allied with the beast on the one hand (Rev 19:19) and the Prince of Peace, Faithful and True, mounted on a white horse, and His heavenly hosts, on the other.  (Rev 19:16).

When we feel ourselves to be part of His army, we have been raptured, and we wield His weapons, the word of truth (the sword coming out of the mouth), and the rod of iron, which I believe to be fear of nuclear holocaust.  He is working through us to bring about His kingdom on earth, as He promised in the prayer He gave us.

Let us not be dismayed by the winds of public opinion, fanned by the fawning press, or by the lying words and scurrilous deeds of those in power.   Jesus is in charge, and will bring about peace.

Then he asked them, "Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?"
Mark 4: 40

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place
that he was to receive as an inheritance;
he went out, not knowing where he was to go.
By faith he sojourned in the promised land as in a foreign country,
dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs of the same promise;
for he was looking forward to the city with foundations,
whose architect and maker is God.
By faith he received power to generate,
even though he was past the normal age
"and Sarah herself was sterile"
for he thought that the one who had made the promise was trustworthy.
So it was that there came forth from one man,
himself as good as dead,
descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky
and as countless as the sands on the seashore...

By faith Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac,
and he who had received the promises was ready to offer his only son,
of whom it was said,
Through Isaac descendants shall bear your name.
He reasoned that God was able to raise even from the dead,
and he received Isaac back as a symbol.
Hebrews 11: 8-13, 18-19
