crisis of faith, continued

And the Apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."
Luke 17: 5-6

The many Christians in the US who voted for Bush believe that their faith is vindicated.  I understand that Catholics, who normally are Democrats, and who might have gone for the Catholic candidate Kerry, went in the main for Bush.  These Christians believe that God has answered their prayers and is turning the US into a more moral and godly society.

Many of us, Christian pacificists, believe that the opposite is true, that Satan, posing as God, has sadly deceived these Christians and is leading us to hell, with loss of freedom, security, love and prosperity.  More than ever, we must cling to our faith that things will come right in the end.

But how hard it is, given the smugness and lack of compassion and understanding of the "moral majority".  God appears to be blessing them with success and power.   How can we deal with this?

In the name of the Prince of Peace,   Carol Wolman
