Are you frightened?

  Dear Fellow- Americans,

Our country is headed for disaster.  Our second-term president has already put in place major legislation which strips us of our freedom, and has appointed ruthless torturers like Gonzales and Negroponte to key positions.

Meanwhile, our currency is rapidly becoming second-rate, our military is overstretched, the policies of our war president are uniting the world against us.  Our refusal to deal with global warming is leading to melting of the polar ice caps and major storms and flooding.

As a nation, we have sinned against the rest of humanity, with our nuclear weapons, our flaunting of international treaties like the Geneva conventions, our unwarranted invasion of other countries, our appropriation of 25% of the world's resources for our 3% of the population.

Our future looks bleak indeed.  When the ship is sinking, people tend to start praying and asking forgiveness for their sins.  Isn't it time we did the same?

Psalm 79 (King James Version) O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.   9Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

In the name of the Prince of Peace,  Carol Wolman
