invitation to spiritual activism conference

  spiritual activism

founding conference: July 20-23, 2005, Berkeley, CA

Dear Friend,

You are invited to a gathering that will transform American politics.

There’s a real spiritual crisis in American society. The liberal and progressive forces have been tone-deaf to this crisis, and that has made it easier for the Right to triumph politically. We believe it is time to build a Network of Spiritual Progressives so that we can provide a coherent alternative vision.

You are invited to stop the Religious Right from exploiting God and "moral values" to justify militarism and bigotry; from packing the courts with extremists who question the validity of the First Amendment; from degrading the lives of gays and lesbians and from rolling back the reproductive rights of women. Join the Network of Spiritual Progressives and come to our founding conference.

YOU ARE INVITED TO THE SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM CONFERENCE.

The Conference is our first step in building a Network of Spiritual Progressives that will challenge the growing reactionary movement in America and will revitalize the voices for peace, human rights, love and compassion. Our goal is to:

  • Stop the appropriation of God by the Religious Right.
  • Bring a spiritual consciousness to progressive movements.
  • Develop a New Bottom Line that champions love, caring, social justice

and ecological sanity over money and power.

We want you to be a part of this historic gathering. Please register, and send this letter to your friends, family and community. Can’t come? Join the Network of Spiritual Progressives!
