open letter to Kerry by Carol Wolman

Dear Senator Kerry,

Jesse Jackson believes that you won Ohio and thus the election: "If we deal with the anomalies, a fair random count, the urban-suppressed vote, Kerry would get at least 60,000 more votes. At least!  I believe that. I don’t know that." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6770193/

On January 6, 2005 Congress will meet in joint session to certify the 2004 presidential election. On that day, if one member of the House and one member of the Senate object to the certification of the vote, then all members of Congress will finally discuss these issues.

You could be that one member of the Senate, Mr. Kerry.  No doubt you are considering this, and listening to various points of view right now.  Your practical political voice is probably saying that you should play it safe, not rock the boat, not jeopardize whatever leverage you have in the Senate with the Republican majority.

Your Skull and Bones voice may be saying that you cannot violate your fraternity oath and change the plan- this may be an unfair suspicion.  Your voice of caution may be saying that Bush is dangerous and retaliates harshly against those who cross him, and you don't want to put your family in jeopardy.

I suggest you listen to Jesse Jackson:  "Thursday is when Congress is scheduled to certify the vote. Kerry should take the floor and ask for a debate on the subject. Kerry pulled out too early. The scrutiny pulled out with him."

The future of America and of the world depends on what happens Thursday.  It is not too late for you to take a stand and insist on a recount, a revote, or whatever it would take to ensure a fair election.  As a fellow-Christian, I implore you to do the right thing on January 6th.

Beloved, do not trust every spirit
but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God,
because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 John 4: 1

In the name of the God of truth,   Carol Wolman
